  1. Be proud of your child for what he is. Do not link your status in society with his achievements or failures.
  2. Help your child to cultivate the habit of reading by spending some time in your daily routine reading yourself.
  3. Praise your child for efforts, regardless of whether he wins or loses. This will help him to tackle failures positively and work continuously towards his goals.
  4. Don’t worry that your children is not listening to you. Worry that they are watching you, be their role model.
  5. Saying ‘NO’ too often can negatively impact your child’s self confidence. Offer alternative solutions or logical reasons of denying a request.
  6. Don’t make promises you cannot keep. Too many broken promises will make your child lose trust on you.
  7. Do not over parent children. Give them space and let them solve some of their problems.
  8. Appreciate your child little acts of courage. It will strengthen him emotionally and prepare him for life’s big challenges.
  9. Set age-appropriate boundaries for your child, like when to go to bed or eat. However while enforcing be calm and considerate.
  10. The most precious gift you can give to your child is your time and attention. Even if you have limited time some days, make sure he gets your undivided attention.
  11. Teenagers enjoy being treated as adults. Seek their inputs and suggestions, even during general family decisions, and they will feel respected and cherished.
  12. Allow your child to make mistakes. Let him realize that a mistake is not a mistake as long as ones learn from it.
  13. Never ridicule the dreams of children. Handle their imagination tenderly to make them confident.
  14. Do not expect your child to behave like an adult. They cannot sit quietly or concentrate on one thing for too long.
  15. Don’t lose your temper at your child.
  16. When you discipline your child, make it clear that it is the behavior that you are condemning, and not him.
  17. A few words of encouragement can work magic on your child’s self-esteem. Appreciate him when he succeeds but more importantly, acknowledge the efforts he puts in.
  18. If you made mistake in front of your child, admit it. It will strengthen his trust on you.
  19. Don’t tell your child how to do things. Tell him what to do. You’d surprised that how he finds his own ingenious methods of doing them.
  20. Never use fear to make your child do something. It could lead to phobias and emotional imbalance later in life. Love is the key to child’s healthy development.
  21. Never talk about your child’s teacher with disrespect. The moment the child sees his parents make fun of the caliber of his teacher, his listing towards hid teacher stops.
  22. If you want to your child to accept his mistake, first you apologize. Be humble when you talk to your servants, if you wish to your child to become good human being. Lead y example. Remember you are role model for your child.
  23. It is important to develop the ability to take right decision. But  it is more important to develop in him the courage to face life when the decisions go wrong.
