Making of an Ideal Humanbeing

Hello Everybody! In my previous blog,I highlighted some of the grave issues of ‘posting status’ constantly and the reason that encourages to do so.Today I would like to draw your attention towards the core elements (the values) that goes into shaping and moulding the characteristics of an individual to an ‘Ideal Humanbeing’,that is absent in today’s generation. We all claim having learnt moral values & ethics in our primary classes, but sincerely, how many of us reflect it through our consciousness? We consciously or unconsciously falter in proving ourselves. The 14th Dalai Lama has stressed on to follow the 3RS- Respect for self,Respect for Others & Responsibilities for all your actions.
Respect for self involves, having self respect- that is holding yourself in esteem and believing that you are good and worthy of being treated well.An eg of self respect is when you know you deserve to be treated right and as a result, you do not tolerate others lying to you or treating you unfairly. But to earn that self respect, one should be just in all actions. And one who has self respect, will be cautious in projecting oneself through speech, actions & behaviour. A person who has self respect will not entertain others to invade his/her privacy & will always have the courage to accept their mistakes.A self respected person does not flaunt on social sites & will not share personal issues that would invite ‘attention’ and ‘likes’. Such a person will have value of his/her self esteem and will have importance for the relationship he/she shares with others,& at the same time, will have ‘Respect For Others’.
Therefore one should not forget that:-
“You will never gain anyone’s approval by begging for it. When you stand confident in your own worth, respect follows.”
